IntroductionFree introduction evening every second Thursday evening at 18.00. Sign up by mail or phone To experience the benefit of yoga the approach must be deep and calm. One can only "taste" yoga by trying a period with regular practice. This is why we offer a speciel introdiction week including a individual session and 5 yoga- and meditation classes for 300 kr. During the introduction students can attend up to 5 morning or evening classes and get familiar with pranayama, asanas and meditation. In this week a personal yoga- and meditation program will be build based on an individual talk with the teacher on the starting day. Yoga Yoga means ‘union’ in Sanskrit, the ancient Indian language, and is an Indian tradition and practice that has been transferred from Gurus to students through thousands of years. It is a philosophy, a life style, an art form and an individual practice stimulating inner organs and mind. Yoga is not about forceful stretching and high pulsation, but rather about learning how to listen to the body carefully and thus increase flexibility and strength. The subtle aim of yoga is to form a higher consciousness, an inner silence and enlightenment - for this, the physical part of yoga is highly instrumental. Yoga is a unique tool to get in contact with your personal inhibitions – physical as well as mental. Yoga is found in many shapes and varieties and all over the world. Most types of yoga has, like Santhi Yoga School, roots in the Ashtanga yoga philosophy that derives from Guru Patanjalis description of the eight spiritual limbs of yoga. Thus, Ashtanga yoga is reffering to a spirutual yoga approach and not a name of a physical approach to yoga (as often misunderstood). In Santhi Yoga School, yoga is a practice that goes beyond the physical work of the body and aims at creating a peaceful stability and balance in body, mind and soul. Indian tradition In 2003, Govind Radhakrishnan established an indian yoga-and meditation school in Kerala along with his yoga master. Here the teaching was build on a personal relation between master and student and the knowledge of deep yoga techniques are carefully passed on trough individual teaching. Thus, the yoga knowledge and higher meditation techniques have carefully been passed on from master to student through decades. In the summer of 2007 Govind joined his former student, Anna Marie, who also studied teaching methods from the yogamaster of the Indian yoga school. They decided to open a Danish-indian school and to continue the teachings of the ancient art of yoga- and meditation in Denmark. Santhi Yoga School thus breaths trough the same values and traditions of the ancient deep yoga philosophy in a Danish-Indian meeting. Teaching and individual approach Our teaching is based on the ancient Indian yoga philosophy applied within the frame of contemporary Danish society. Yoga is originally a spiritual and individual process of development, which is why one of our main foci is the practice of meditation (inward concentration and meditation), and pranayama (breathing and energy exercises) along with the practice of asanas (physical postures and exercises). To benefit maximally from yoga, individual programmes are made according to the body structure and personality of each student. Classes We offer daily morning and evening classes, where the students are encouraged to come within the time frames of morning classes and afternoon/evening classes. Students are not obliged to follow a certain batch or class, but can make their yoga training fit their daily schedule. Since meditation is an important part of yoga as a whole, Santhi Yoga School has a separate meditation room which is open before and after yoga lessons. All students can enjoy meditation in the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of the meditation room daily - no matter how many classes each student attends per week. Giftcard The introduction period can also by gifted as a gift card. Buy one week of yoga- and meditation teaching and a yoga note book for only 300 kr The price includes an introduction evening about yoga and meditation.
